Just a quarter of British adults now say that they sleep very well most nights, with almost half of us losing sleep as a result of worry and stress.
Research conducted by the Sleep Council has found that one in four of us either don’t get enough sleep, struggle to get to sleep in the first place, or have broken, restless sleep patterns.
Getting a good night’s sleep is the key to looking and feeling our best. This is because just one bad night’s sleep affects our mood, concentration and alertness, while long-term sleep deprivation has far more serious consequences: it’s been linked to a number of serious health problems such as heart disease, diabetes, stroke and even Alzheimer’s. Sleeping well is as crucial to our health and wellbeing as eating a healthy diet or exercising regularly.
Given that nearly half of us feel positive after a good night’s sleep, a third feel happy and almost a quarter feel productive, it’s well worth making the effort to improve our sleeping habits. For many of us, a sensible, regular bedtime and a comfortable bed are the key to sleeping well. Improving ‘sleep hygiene’ by keeping electrical devices like TVs and laptops out of the bedroom, making time to wind down before bed, and keeping our bedroom dark and quiet can also help. Unfortunately, the Sleep Council’s research indicates that many of us are neglecting todo these things - and we’re suffering the consequences. Just a quarter of British adults now say that they sleep very well most nights, with almost half of us losing sleep as a result of worry and stress.
However, a new discovery from a real ‘sleepy’ town in the south of France has finally revealed the secret to getting the quality sleep our wellbeing requires.
For hundreds of years, the health benefits of natural ingredients, essential oils and their fragrances have been widely acknowledged - from fighting infection to alleviating stress, enhancing mood and relaxing muscles – and aiding sleep.
Grasse, in the South of France, is the capital of the perfume world – the world’s finest luxury designer fragrances are produced from the luscious fields of flowers, herbs, woods and minerals from the area, and have been since the 17th Century. The quality of the essential oils in the region are highly regulated, thus the level of purity and reliability of the products is second- to-none. In addition to luxury perfumes, the master perfumeries have also created a fragrant pillow spray, which the locals swear by to help them relax before they rest for the night.
Using 7 essential oils – including relaxing Lavender, antibacterial Bergamot, zingy Orange, and calming Rosemary, the 100% Organic Pillow Spray will transform your bedroom into a heavenly-scented, peaceful zone.
Sprayed around the room or on your pillow and sheets before rest, the non-stain essential oils will transport you to the fields of Grasse, and help ease you to a full night of peaceful, deep sleep – making you feel great and help combat health issues.
